The UCLA Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) Research group is recruiting up to three (3) undergraduate research interns funded by NSF REU.
Eligibility
- Must be citizens or permanent residents of the United States or its possessions;
- Must be enrolled in an undergraduate institution in the United States or its possessions;
Research Topic
Broadly, you will be participating in technical HCI research working with PhD students and faculty members in UCLA HCI Research. Three main topics include:
- Intelligent User Interfaces: how can we design interfaces of intelligent systems that augment a user to accomplish domain-specific tasks?
- Sensing & Interaction Techniques: how can we invent new sensors and devices that afford novel experiences for users to interact with a computer?
- Computational Design & Fabrication: how can we build computational platforms that empower users to realize their ideas into digital or physical artifacts?

Required Skills
Ideal candidates should have one or more of the following skills:
- user-centered design;
- hardware or software prototyping;
- machine learning or deep learning;
- 3D design and fabrication;
- data or information visualization.
Time & Place
The internship is 10-week long and will take place virtually between 5/21-9/17/2021.
